Cold weather threats Hanoi’s peach village

Gardeners in Hanoi’s Nhat Tan village are sitting on fire because the cold spell is forecast to prolong,  which would mean a poor harvest of flowers.

Only three weeks before the lunar New Year are left, but Nhat Tan peach trees don’t blossom yet.

Meanwhile, kumquat trees have turned yellow to welcome the New Year.
Many people visit Nhat Tan village to take pictures and to buy kumquat trees.

While kumquat growers are glad, peach planters are very worried.

peach trees may not blossom at all in time.
